Created by French pilot André Lombard, only 94 Lombards were made.
In 1929, Lombard was acquired by BNC.
This Lombard chassis 24 was built in 1927.
This car is unique and is the only one with a 1500cc Lombard engine.
The engine of this Lombard was built for the pilot Pierre Félix who had ordered from BNC, the
development of its Lombard n°12 engine from 1100 to 1500cc.
The objective was to reach 100 hp and 180 km/h with his car.
The finished car was entered in that year's German Grand Prix, but Felix was forced to retire after 17 laps.
In 1943, Serge Pozzoli acquired the car and commissioned Edmond Vareilles, a former engineer at Lombard, to restore the engine.
Serge Pozzoli took part in the very first post-war race, the Liberation Cup at the Bois de Boulogne in Paris.
After a few more races, Serge Pozzoli sold the car to Robert Gerbout, who raced the car in various Grands Prix from 1947 to 1952.
under the names "Lombard", "RG Lombard", "Lombard Special Gerbout"
The car was sold to Dutch collector Max Lip who exhibited the car in his Autotron museum in Holland for 37 years
The car is visible in Belgium.
